Nearly 40 years ago, Andy and Katy Skikos settled with their 5 children in Sonoma County, and opened a small fruit stand on the outskirts of north Sebastopol. Along with his wife, brothers and children, Andy worked day and night seeking the freshest fruits and vegetables possible to offer Sebastopol quality produce. In 1969, Andy bought his first Peterbilt, which was a humble start to his now booming trucking division. As Sebastopol matured as a town, Andy’s kept up with the growing demands of the community by continuously expanding the small retail store.

		The small fruit stand has evolved into what is now considered the most prominent produce market in northern California. In addition to premium fruits and vegetables, Andy’s offers organically grown produce, a packaged bulk food and grocery section, all natural health and beauty products, and the store proudly features a wide variety of local Sonoma County wines and gourmet specialty foods. Local restaurant owners look to Andy’s for their large-scale produce needs, which are accommodated by the dutiful wholesale division.


		Unique to the store are the many family members still involved with the daily functions. Son Chris and son-in-law Frank run the Wholesale division while son Jim is highly involved with the Trucking division. Along with Andy’s brother Dee, daughter Kim and daughter-in-law Jane are in charge of the store, while daughters Julie and Shelley complete most office duties for the corporation. On any day of the week, you can walk into Andy’s market and be greeted by one of his 19 grandchildren or even by Andy himself.

		Andy and Katy along with their family have upheld the integrity and quality of the Sonoma County produce market that locals and tourists alike have come to expect from this unique agricultural region. Andy’s Produce is one of the few open-air produce markets in northern California. It keeps its old-fashioned fruit stand appeal while offering a complete selection of fresh produce, and organic and natural food products.
